I’m super excited to write this article and share what I recently discovered that tremendously helps my family and I with our allergies! All my life, I’ve suffered with seasonal allergies, while my husband and daughter have been suffering with allergies over, well….everything. My husband and daughter, since their allergies are more severe than mine, have seen an allergist and received shots, along with many other pharmaceutical products, such as Flonase, Singulair, and everything else that is in the market. All to no avail. We’ve tried every natural product we could think of, nothing. No help there, either. Every evening, my husband and daughter would get super stuffed up, sneeze a lot, and constant watery eyes. I, however, would suffer from allergies whenever the seasons change. Sudafed became my best friend that I hated.
I have a bottle of colloidal silver from a brand that I really trust and and has been very effective in treating ailments that we’ve had in the past. So I thought, “I wonder if we use colloidal silver as a nasal spray. Would it help our allergies (sneezing, watery eyes)?” I did a quick search on amazon to see if our brand of colloidal silver came in a nasal spray. And sure enough, it did. A few days later, it arrived. And O. M. G.!!! Talk about quick relief after using it! And the relief lasts, too! As soon as one of us sneezes, we spray one squirt in each nostril, and voila! We don’t sneeze or have stuffy noses or watery eyes the rest of the day. There has even been a few days in between sprays where we didn’t even feel the need to use anything! That has never happened to us before! I posted a screenshot of the colloidal silver nasal spray that we use for your reference in case you want to use the same.
I’m not saying that colloidal silver will help every allergy sufferer out there. But dang! It sure has helped my family in a HUGE way, like nothing ever has before.
There is always a debate on whether genetically modified organisms (also known as GMO) foods are safe to eat or not. Our American government say that it is safe to eat and needed to feed the world. If you read any of my earlier posts, or have followed me long enough, you know that I think that is false. Deadly false. I’m not going to go into details about GMO’s and how they are made as I have posted extensively on it previously. The purpose of this post to show you, once again, that it’s harmful.
A quick recap on GMO’s is that the DNA of a crop seed is altered by injecting a virus or bacteria into it, thus making it able to survive sprays from Round-Up herbicide. Most farmers here in the U.S. use Round-Up an herbicide to spray on their crops; you know, the same Round-Up that we use to kill weeds, and well, it can kill pretty much most plant life. Yet somehow, we are suppose to believe that us consuming vegetables that have been sprayed with Round-Up is perfectly safe to eat. Well….here is something to think about……
My family and I have been chopping down trees that are near our house. Of course, chopping down trees alone will not kill them. The other day I did a quick google search to see how we can kill the tree stumps. Above is a screenshot of one of my searches that state that spraying glyphosate in the middle of the tree stump will kill it. Also included in this article is how you should wear gloves and protective clothing while using the glyphosate herbicide. Now think about that for a minute. Glyphosate is the herbicide in Round-Up that makes Round-Up work so well in killing plant life. At the same time, our GMO crops are being sprayed by them. Yet, at the same time our government is telling us that these Round-Up sprayed GMO’s are healthy for you to eat. What?????? Do I really need to further explain how ridiculous this sounds??? Think about how in the last 20+ years, around the time that GMO’s were introduced into our foods (in the 1990s), how there have been a significant increase in gut diseases. If a certain liquid can kill a tree stump, it’s probably not doing a whole lot of good in your stomach. Just sayin….. By the way, the above screenshot was taken from the following website: https://homeguides.sfgate.com/kill-roots-stump-tree-digging-up-44878.html
I live in the South and half of my backyard is the woods. So the bugs down here are atrocious. I came across this Natural Bug Spray recipe, made a few changes, and tested it. Right now, the weather is hot, humid, and evening; all which make a perfect storm for bug bites. After my family and I spent over an hour in our backyard, I’m happy to say that none of us were bit!
Here is the Natural Bug Spray recipe:
- 1/2 Cup White Vinegar (I used 5% ascetic acid which can be found in most stores)
- 1/4 Cup Witch Hazel (this can be found near the Rubbing Alcohol section at the store)
- 1 Tablespoon Rubbing Alcohol 91%
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 10 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil
- 10 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
- 10 drops Clove Essential Oil
- 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 10 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
- 10 drops Melaleuca Essential Oil (Tee Tree Oil)
* I use doTERRA Essential Oils, so that is what this recipe was made with.
All my life I’ve had very high lipid levels. I have a family history of heart disease and get the high cholesterol from that. The 252 you see here from 6 months ago is actually the lowest it’s ever been. Even when I was 60 lbs less than I am today, my lipid profile was always very high. But…..I refuse to take statins and prefer natural approaches.
The first pic compares the results from last August 2017 to February 2018. The second pic are the results of a test called Lipoprotein A, which is a “sticky cholesterol.” Lipo(A) test is a more accurate determination of cardiovascular disease risk than cholesterol levels.
“Evidence suggests that Lp(a) may be more firmly retained in the arterial wall than LDL. Furthermore, Lp(a) transports oxidized phospholipids whose plasma levels are strongly correlated with the severity of coronary artery disease. Interestingly, these Lp(a) associated oxidized phospholipids possess pro-inflammatory activity. This might be one of the links between lipids and inflammation in atherosclerosis.
There is also some experimental data suggesting that Lp(a) may promote clot formation in arteries burdened by atherosclerotic plaque. This may be one of the mechanisms behind the involvement of Lp(a) in heart attack and stroke.”
Less than 75 is considered desirable for Lipo(A). And here I got a 13!!
Since I know DE works for me (I see the results), for maintenance level, I’m going to take 1 tsp of DE once a day for 1 month, and do that twice a year.
There are so many benefits of Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade, and to list them all would make this a very long post. In fact, I use this for my organic garden so I don’t have to use pesticides and it works! One of the most important things to know about DE is that in order to ingest it, it MUST be FOOD GRADE!! Another note is that you need to drink a lot of water when you ingest this powder as it will dry your body out if you do not drink enough. The general rule is to drink at least half of your body weight in ounces. Water is great for you anyway, so you should be drinking a lot. And third, you need to take DE either one hour before or 2 hours after you eat. Reason is that DE is highly absorbent and will absorb whatever nutrients you take with it. While you can put it in a smoothie or any other drink or food, problem is you will miss out on the nutrients associated with the food or drink that you take with it. That is why I put a teaspoon in a glass of water and nothing else.
Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
I recently had a spinal fusion revision surgery. Revision surgeries are harder on the body and take longer to heal than “first-time” surgeries. I was experiencing excruciating pain and was on narcotic pain killers for 5 weeks. I had a HUGE build up of toxins in body from taking the pain killers, as well as the anesthetics and other drugs that were given to me during my hospital stay. After I was finally off all the meds, my body did not feel healthy like it use to feel; I felt “off.” So I made a detoxifying tea and I really did feel better, more “alive” after drinking it for 1 week.
Here is the recipe:
- 4 Tea Bags of Dandelion Root Tea, using 4 Cups of water
- 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Cranberry Juice
- Juice of 1 Lemon
The detoxifying tea had a strong “tea” flavor which I do not like so I added an extra 1/2 cup of cranberry juice.
Drink 1 liter of the detoxifying tea every day and drink it for 1 week. The amount of this recipe is a little over 1 liter. In addition to the tea, be sure to drink lots of water to help flush the toxins out of your body.
The dandelion root tea has a natural diuretic effect which allows the liver to eliminate toxins from your body quicker. Dandelion root tea also strengthens your immune system. Lemon juice helps cleanse the liver, cleanses the colon, assists with gas and bloating, and helps eliminate toxins from your body. Cranberry juice cleanses the kidney, lymphatic system, and intestines.
This detoxifying recipe worked well for me. Prior to detoxing, I felt sluggish, tired, and weighed down due to all the build up of toxins in my body. After completing the detox, I felt more “awake” and had more energy. I felt renewed. Even though I feel better now, I plan on detoxing my body using this tea a few times a year. Approximately 80% of your immune system is in your gastrointestinal system. So it’s very important to keep it “clean” so it can work harder for you.
Six years ago I had lumbar spinal fusion surgery, and over the last couple of years I was having lower back pains again. One of the screws was misplaced and had to have a revision on my previous surgery. Unfortunately I am finding that revision surgery is much harder on the body and takes longer to heal. Three and a half weeks after my surgery, my doctor gave me the okay to soak in baths… meaning it is okay to submerge my back in water now that the skin tissues have healed completely.
As stated earlier, I was in tremendous pain before surgery and would soak in epsom salt baths for about an hour every other day. The package says to use two cups of epsom salt in a bath, but I used at least double because of the severity of my pain. When I got out of the bathtub, it eased some of the pain and made me more limber when I moved. So after the surgery I figured it would be a good idea to go back to that practice.
Now that it has been over a month after surgery and followed up with my doctor, he verified that my tissues were completely healed to be submerged in a bath. So recently I returned to soaking in epsom salt baths, using the same measurement of salt that I used before. The reason this helps is because epsom salt reduces inflammation. And as you can imagine, this surgery produced a tremendous swelling in my back.
I am happy to report that I am now feeling the same results as I did after soaking in epsom baths before surgery. I am again feeling more limber and therefore am moving with a little less pain. I cannot promise that everyone is going to get the same result but I am sharing what I experience, and would highly recommend at least giving it a try. Epsom salt bags are relatively inexpensive, so it is worth giving it a try. As always, first check with your doctor if an epsom bath could be okay for you.
The picture above is the brand I use.
I found a “natural solution” to combat garden pests, tried a few days ago and it works!!!! I’m so happy about this so I thought I would share this recipe with you since I know a lot of you aren’t particularly fond of using chemicals in your garden bed.
I have a HUGE garden and for the past few weeks or so, the green bean plants have been totally infested with Japanese beetles…so many of them it’s sickening. Yuck! I’m into organic foods and gardening and I don’t want to use the chemical sprays you get from the store. I tried several “natural” approaches and none of those worked, except for this particular one. Here is the recipe:
In a large bowl, combine the following:
- 2 Tablespoons of liquid soap (either Mrs. Meyers, Castille Soap, or Murphy’s Oil Soap)
- 4 Cups Water
- 3 drops of Lemon or Orange Essential Oil
- 5 Garlic Cloves, cut coarsely
- 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
Mix well and let the mixture sit overnight. Next day, strain the solution so that garlic chunks don’t clog up your spray bottle. Pour the solution into a spray bottle and keep for up to 2 weeks. It works!!!!
The soap mixture (soap, water, and oil) is an insecticide. While the garlic and chili powder repel the nasty pests. The smell is VERY strong so I keep my spray bottle out in the garden to help repel the nasty bugs. Make sure to spray all over the plants, including the underside of them.
The trick is to spray this mixture on the plants as soon as you see any pests, which is when it works best. It took me a few days to see the full results but that was because I waited so long to find a good solution.
This solution is suppose to work on the following pests: aphids, mites, white flies, thrips, mealy bugs, Japanese beetles, borers, leafhoppers, and slugs. Garlic also deters larger pests such as deer and rabbits. The only pests that we have problems with are the Japanese beetles so I know this solution works well on getting rid of them. As for the others pests that I mentioned, I don’t know because we haven’t had any problems with them. It’s definitely worth a try especially since most the substances for this solution is found in our cabinet.
